According to Elliotte Friedman, the Red Wings have signed undrafted free agent forward Ryan Kuffner from Princeton.
Kuffner, 22, is a left winger who registered 52 points in 36 games last season as a junior and 44 points in 31 games as a senior this season. According to his coach, Kuffner along with teammates Max Veronneau and Josh Teves have already signed their pro contracts. Kuffner is on the left in the picture.
This was Corey Pronman of the Athletic’s scouting report on Kuffner:
“Kuffner, like Veronneau, saw his counting numbers take a step back this season. He’s a goal-scorer who can snipe from a distance and has good hockey sense. For me his talent level isn’t all that amazing. He has some skill and speed, but his pace isn’t always the best. I see some offense translating but I don’t see him as a driver at the pro level.”
