In Jeff Blashill’s post-practice scrum he revealed that defenseman Danny DeKeyser’s season is likely over after facing a setback in rehab and he’ll need back surgery.
DeKeyser was off to a scorching start with 4 points in 8 games, looking very solid at both ends of the ice.
To not only have to miss the rest of the season, but to also go through back surgery, that’s a massive setback. Back surgery, no matter how minor, is no laughing matter. The Red Wings have a team chiropractor or at least access to one and that this injury was determined to be too severe for chiropractic care says a lot.
Everyone at WingsNation would like to wish Danny DeKeyser a successful surgery and easy recovery.
