Detroit Red Wings fans already know all about @Dylan Larkin’s skating ability. On Friday, the rest of the National Hockey League will get a reminder.
In addition to playing at his second NHL All-Star Game (his first since 2016), Larkin will participate in the fastest skater event at the accompanying skills competition on Feb. 4.
The 25-year-old centre previously participated in the event back in 2016, circling the rink at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena in a record 13.172 seconds. Playing in his second season as Red Wings captain, Larkin has 23 goals and 44 points in 43 games in 2021–22.
New York Rangers forward @Chris Kreider, Los Angeles Kings forward @Adrian Kempe, Winnipeg Jets forward @Kyle Connor, Washington Capitals forward @Evgeny Kuznetsov, St. Louis Blues forward @Jordan Kyrou, Colorado Avalanche defenseman @Cale Makar, and Edmonton Oilers forward @Connor McDavid will also participate in the 2022 fastest skater competition. McDavid previously won the event in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
The 2022 NHL All-Star Game will take place on Jan. 5, the day after the skills competition.
