A four goal night, a hat trick, one shutout, twenty six games, and seven overtime periods – the second round of the NHL playoffs ended last week with a bang. The skillful Predators and the unlikely Senators both closed out their series in six games. The Pens took down Ovi and the Caps – again – in seven games. The Ducks eliminated McDavid and the Oilers in a thrilling seven games as well. Some brackets took a hit, some survived. Here’s an update on the Wings Nation bracket challenge through the first two rounds.

In a three-way tie for first, Evan L.3, @PDot31, and Pat B.1 all have 110 points, but it’s Evan L.3 with the best chance of winning. He’s got a total of 260 possible points available to him. Tied for 2nd, wingsfan 64_2 had the Oilers winning it all (lol) and Joseph M.2 has a total of 256 points available to him if the Preds make it through the Ducks. Justin R.1 and sum_NZ3UX are hanging on to the number 3 and 4 slots, but they had the Wild winning the Cup and I don’t even know what to say about that. Rounding out the top 5 is ChiJeep2 who correctly guessed one of the four remaining teams in the Conference Finals.
As for me, I really shouldn’t be chirping since I’m in a three-way tie for the number fifteen spot. I had the Caps winning the Cup and only one correct Conference Final guess with the Predators. My bracket is pretty much fucked so I can kiss that prizing goodbye.
Speaking of the prizing, the update provided in the round 1 update is still up-to-date. I promised pictures, but the NHL’s official store shipping method has been a challenge. I am still working on getting it.
I do feel the need to remind you that there is only one prize available. In the event of a tie for first place, a random draw will take place between the tied teams to determine the winner.

The Preds won in stunning double overtime fashion to take a 1-0 series lead. The Sens and Pens play game one tonight in Pittsburgh. How are you feeling about your bracket this round? Can the Sens upset one more team and get a shot at the Cup? Will the Preds continue to make franchise history?
