Hot off their victory against the Slovakians last night, the Americans came back into action against the Russians. Without making this game about political statements and sticking it to hockey, it should make for an interesting result.
The Americans look to key in on Russian Kirill Kaprizov, who’s managed 4 goals and 7 points throughout the tournament so far.
USA pulled ahead with an early goal by Clayton Keller, who’s looked every bit worth the first-round pick the Coyotes used on him earlier this spring.
After the Russians tied it up, USA’s second goal was popped in by Colin White to restore their lead.
Troy Terry ended up with the game’s winning goal late in the second period, giving the Americans a 3-1 lead.
But earning the game’s MVP from WN was Tyler Parsons, who made 25 saves including this beauty.
The Americans are back in action New Years Eve at 3:30 against Team Canada.
