Three worse giveaways than Petr Mrazek’s from Tuesday night

Whenever a goalie plays the puck, coaches and fans alike hold their collective breath for the worst. Normally it just leads to a ring around the boards and not much comes of it. In the case of Petr Mrazek this past Tuesday, he played the puck and gave it straight to Josh Bailey for an easy goal.
It was a terrible blunder and a bad look in a year full of them for the Wings. In reality though, it isn’t that bad.
I’m being serious.
That’s why I am here to show you three worse giveaways than what Petr Mrazek did the other night.

1. Toledo Mud Hens

You probably thought I was going to show interceptions or horrible baseball plays. Well you’d be mistaken. This article is reserved for all kinds of terrible giveaways.
One of the worst ever?
It happened right on the other side of the Ohio, Michigan border in Toledo when the minor league baseball team gave out thousands of…
School Folders.
While this is a practical giveaway for all students. It is also complete and utter trash. Give out wacky t-shirts. None of this trash. If you’re a student who attended this game you must have felt lame.
This is ten times worse than Mrazek’s giveaway. At least his brought excitement to the masses.

2. Brent Burns

Brent Burns has a really strong chance at winning the Norris Trophy this year, he has been an offensive force. A couple of years ago, he was part of one of the worst giveaways of all-time. It was a truly disgusting gift to fans.
A Brent Burns chia pet. Burns seems like an okay to great guy. Allowing your face to be put on a chia pet should be a jail-able offense. These damn things are the bane of my existence.
Why are they even around still? Thousands of these were given away too.
Let’s do the math here. Thousands of Brent Burns’ chia pets or one errant pass from Petr Mrazek. You and I both know which is worse.

3. Literally awful things

The Altoona Curve has perfected the awful giveaway. It has become their thing and it has somehow become one of the best nights in all of sports.
They’ve recently given away bubble wrap one year and another they gave out sporks while solely serving spam at their concession stands. They also get the names of players wrong intentionally when they are going up to bat. It is dumb and beautiful at the same time.
It should also accentuate one final point.
While Mrazek’s giveaway is bad and left a sour taste in many mouths, it is one mistake in a long line of serviceable play from the goaltender. The bye week isn’t helping anyone forget that awful play but it should allow for others to realize that everyone makes mistakes.
Even NHL goalies.
