Kris Draper was the hero with a last-minute goal to give the Wings a 4-3 win in the Centennial Classic alumni game. Filled with heroes young and old from the two sides of the rivalry, the Red Wings came out on top at Toronto’s BMO field.

The Rundown

After a scoreless first, opening the scoring was the greatest defenseman of his generation, Nick Lidstrom, finding the back of the net midway through the second period.
Adding to the total was Igor Larionov, putting Detroit up 2-nil.
For perhaps the last time in his career, Brendan Shanahan popped this one in against his current Toronto Maple Leafs squad to increase the lead to 3.
But a Wendel Clark snipe on a breakaway and a pair of Toronto third-period goals tied the game heading into the tense final moments.
With just over 60 seconds Dino Ciccarelli threw the puck on net with a slapshot, allegedly banned under Alumni game rules. Kris Draper picked up the  rebound, putting the game to bed.
Tomorrow, the current NHLers play this game for real.
