Where did this team come from?

The Rundown

Okay, so it wasn’t all rosy.
In fact, 27 seconds into the game the Wings found themselves the victim of a Kris Letang goal. At risk of losing by approximately 120, the Detroiters were in fact able to recover… eventually.
Truthfully, the rest of the first period was pretty “meh” for both sides, aaaaaaand 3:51 into the second the Wings found themselves down again by 2.
Surely that’s the game right? Down two against the defending Stanley Cup Champions?
Not so, said Gustav Nyquist.
Not so, said Tomas Vanek.
Two goals later and midway through the game Detroit had things all tied up at 2-2.
But because nothing good seems to stay, the Wings fell behind via a Matt Cullen shot.
What’s this? A Wings powerplay to close out the period?
??????
?????????? Huge kudos to Mike Green for one heck of a pass.
And oh, there was this goal of the year candidate:
4-3.
Building on his earlier pass, Mike Green found the back of the net…
5-3.
Just for good measure, Henrik Zetterberg made it 6-3 with just over 6 minutes left in the game.
Unexpected? Totally.
Sustainable? Probably not.
Fun af? You bet.

Let’s give it to 32-save man Jared Coreau, who proved the difference after a shaky start.
