Red Wings trade Namestnikov to Dallas for a 2024 4th

By Mike Gould
1 year agoThe Detroit Red Wings have reportedly traded forward @Vladislav Namestnikov to the Dallas Stars in exchange for a fourth-round pick.

TSN’s Chris Johnston said that the fourth-rounder is a 2024 selection. Kevin Weekes first reported the deal on ESPN.
Namestnikov, 29, has 13 goals and 25 points in 60 games with the Red Wings this season. He’s in the final season of the two-year UFA deal (annually worth $2 million) that he signed with Detroit in 2020.
The Red Wings now possess eight selections in the 2024 NHL Draft, with Dallas’ fourth-rounder adding to Detroit’s own picks in all seven rounds.
Namestnikov is the fourth member of the Red Wings to depart prior to the 2022 trade deadline. Earlier on Monday, the Wings sent @Nick Leddy and @Luke Witkowski to the St. Louis Blues for @Oskar Sundqvist, @Jake Walman, and a 2023 second-round pick; on Sunday, Detroit traded @Troy Stecher to the Los Angeles Kings for a 2022 seventh-rounder.
