Michael Rasmussen nets first NHL goal

Just the day after Jeff Blashill announces that the 19-year-old rookie will be staying up in the NHL, Rasmussen pots his first NHL goal tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Set-up beautifully by Vanek from behind the net, Rasmussen is where he is always advertised to be and scores from just in front of the net.

Even though there were three Blue Jackets around him, Rasmussen was able to receive the pass and sneak it in glove side.

Just his second NHL point in now ten games, he has been criticized for not being the rookie sensation that we all saw throughout the WHL Playoffs. But hopefully, with this goal, some of his critics are quiet.
