@Kyle Criscuolo’s latest stint in the National Hockey League has come to an end.
On Monday morning, the Detroit Red Wings announced that Criscuolo has been reassigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.
Criscuolo, 29, filled in for @Tyler Bertuzzi in the Red Wings’ 5–2 loss in Ottawa on Sunday, logging 9:50 and firing one shot on goal. In three games with the Red Wings this season, Criscuolo has one assist.
The Griffins will undoubtedly be happy to welcome back Criscuolo, who currently ranks fifth on that team in scoring with 32 points (12 goals, 20 assists) in 49 games.
Criscuolo hails from Southampton, NJ and has 170 points (69 goals, 101 assists) in 299 career AHL games. The 5’9″, 175-pound right-handed centre could help the Griffins in their last-gasp push for a playoff berth in the Central Division.
Grand Rapids currently sits in seventh place in the Central with a 27–30–8 record, three points back of the fifth-place Texas Stars (who have three games in hand). Only the top five teams in the Central will qualify for the Calder Cup playoffs.
