Dreger on TSN690 mentions a few more potential candidates for the Flyers GM job who are knocking on the door currently working as AGMs: Scott Mellanby (MTL), Bill Guerin (PIT), Tom Fitzgerald (NJ), Kris Draper (DET), Steve Greeley (BUF). Doesn’t see Chris Pronger as an option.

TSN Insider Darren Dreger Mentions Kris Draper as Potential Candidate for Flyers GM Job

After previously mentioning former Carolina GM Ron Francis and former Minnesota GM Chuck Fletcher as potential GM candidates for the Philadelphia Flyers in a tweet, TSN Insider Darren Dreger named a few more in a radio hit on TSN690 including Red Wings Assistant To The GM Kris Draper.
Mellanby, Guerin, and Fitzgerald have all been involved in GM searches as recently as the Buffalo GM search, but this is the first time Draper has been mentioned in a GM conversation. Draper has taken on a more active role in the front office as he continues to learn under Ken Holland and is considered to be a forward-thinking hockey mind who understands the modern game.
Draper getting a mention in this conversation from Dreger speaks to the quality of work Draper’s been doing behind closed doors and Draper is someone the Wings can’t afford to lose.
As the search develops and names get crossed off the list, one candidate to follow is Buffalo’s Assistant GM Steve Greeley, who ESPN’s John Buccigross endorses.
I think Sabres Assistant GM Steve Greeley would be a good hire for Philly. Played 4 years at BU. 38 years old. Smart. He interviewed with Carolina. He oversees pro scouting staff and player development department in Buffalo. I think he'd be a great hire by @NHLFlyers
We should have a relatively quick answer as to who Philadelphia’s next GM is, as Comcast Spectator CEO Dave Scott appears to want a fast GM search.
#Flyers Dave Scott: “We’re looking for bright, energetic thinkers with a bias for action.” Goal is “weeks not months” to have a new GM in place.
