A day after assigning Wade Megan to Grand Rapids, the Red Wings have recalled Christoffer Ehn. This marks his second recall on the season and the reason why isn’t yet known.
Ehn played the first 9 games of the season in Detroit after making the team out of camp before being sent down to Grand Rapids. He was then recalled on November 6th and played that night.
While in the AHL, he’s registered 1 goal and 5 assists for 6 points in 10 games for Grand Rapids. Ehn has shown to be someone the Wings can depend on in a pinch when they need a reliable defensive forward in the lineup.
Thomas Vanek is still scheduled to return from injury and no injuries were reported at or after the optional skate the Red Wings held, so we’ll have to wait until game time find out why Ehn was recalled.
