The Halifax Mooseheads today announced that Red Wings prospect defenseman Jared McIsaac will be out 5-6 months after shoulder surgery.
According to Halifax GM Cam Russell, McIsaac’s surgery will be to repair his shoulder capsule. This timeline takes him into early November or December, which may lower his chances of making the World Juniors team.
Even though McIsaac spent most of the second half of the season playing through injury according to the release, he finished second in the QMJHL with 62 points in 53 games. He also went on to play 22 playoff games and 4 Memorial Cup games with that shoulder injury.
