Wild at Red Wings | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Red Wings have given up an average of four goals per game over their last seven games while scoring only 1.43 goals per game over that stretch. Each of Detroit’s last six losses have come by two or more goals and all but one of them has come by at least three goals. Things don’t figure to get any easier for the Red Wings down the stretch as the front office sent defenseman Mike Green and forward Andreas Athanasiou out of town at the trade deadline for draft picks.
In their last nine games at home, the Red Wings are 2-7 per the OddsShark NHL Database. Detroit is 10-20-2 at home on the season.
Minnesota has been playing some good hockey over the last six weeks with a 10-5-1 record over its last 16 games. While the Wild aren’t likely to crack the top three in the Central Division entering Thursday’s action 13 points behind the Dallas Stars, the team’s recent play has put Minnesota back in the hunt for a wild card spot only three points behind the Nashville Predators. But despite the renewed hope for a playoff spot, General Manager Bill Guerin stayed pat at the trade deadline, opting not to bring in any reinforcements for the final 20 games of 2019-20.
Thursday night’s total is set at six goals at online betting sites. The OVER is 8-3 in Minnesota’s last 11 games on the road.
The Wild have scored 15 goals over their last four games; a total that Detroit hasn’t hit in its last 10 combined games (with only 14 goals over that stretch). If Minnesota’s offense continues to roll as it has been of late, the Red Wings are going to have an awfully hard time trying to keep up.
