Detroit Red Wings forward @Filip Zadina gave his team a 1–0 lead early in his team’s game against the Boston Bruins on Tuesday.
Zadina started Tuesday’s contest alongside veterans @Sam Gagner and @Carter Rowney on Detroit’s fourth line. Perhaps the demotion gave Zadina an extra spark when he broke in all alone against Bruins goaltender @Linus Ullmark and sent a backhand shot into the top-right corner of the net.
@Pius Suter picked up the lone assist of Zadina’s fourth goal of the season. Here’s the video of the play, as posted to Twitter by the verified Detroit Red Wings account:
Entering Tuesday’s game, Zadina had scored just two points in his previous 13 contests. The Red Wings initially selected the 22-year-old Pardubice, Czech Republic product with the sixth overall pick in the 2018 draft.
Despite being outshot 27–12, Detroit currently leads Boston by a 2–1 score early in the third period.
