Throwback Thursday: Today in 1992, Detroit Red Wings eliminate Minnesota North Stars

Today in 1992, the Detroit Red Wings beat the Minnesota North Stars 5-2 in game seven of the Norris Division semi-finals. The win eliminated the North Stars.
Detroit had been down 3-1 in the series, and became only the ninth team in league history to complete a reverse sweep.
The game seven got kicked off by Detroit scoring three goals in the final 10 minutes of the first period building a lead they wouldn’t look back on. Those goals came from Sergei Federov, Alan Kerr and Gerard Galland. Bob Probert and Shawn Burr added third-period tally’s to extend their lead.
The Red Wings were then matched with the Chicago Blackhawks in the second, by whom they would be swept by in four games.
