Red Wings trim training camp roster by three

The Detroit Red Wings have made three cuts to their 2021 training camp roster, the club announced Wednesday morning.
Defenseman Alex Cotton, the team’s fifth-round pick from the 2021 draft, was re-assigned to the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League.
Forward T-Bone Codd and defenseman Mason Ward have been released from their tryout agreements and returned to their respective junior teams.
With these cuts, the Red Wings now have the following 51 players in training camp:
Forwards (29): Filip Zadina, Robby Fabbri, Jakub Vrána (inj.), Mitchell Stephens, Lucas Raymond, Pius Suter, Taro Hirose, Riley Barber, Michael Rasmussen, Carter Rowney, Kyle Criscuolo, Chase Pearson, Givani Smith, Dominik Shine, Hayden Verbeek, Jonatan Berggren, Bobby Ryan, Turner Elson, Tyler Bertuzzi, Jon Martin, Dennis Yan, Dylan Larkin, Adam Erne, Tyler Spezia, Patrick Curry, Kirill Tyutyayev, Sam Gagner, Joe Veleno, Vladislav Namestnikov.
Defensemen (17): Nick Leddy, Jared McIsaac, Filip Hronek, Marc Staal, Luke Witkowski, Dan Renouf, Gustav Lindström, Brian Lashoff, Donovan Sebrango, Wyatt Newpower, Seth Barton, Moritz Seider, Danny DeKeyser, Troy Stecher, Jordan Oesterle, Adam Brubacher, Ryan Murphy.
Goaltenders (5): Thomas Greiss, Calvin Pickard, Victor Brattström, Kaden Fulcher, Alex Nedeljkovic.
The Red Wings will return to action Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. ET with another pre-season game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
