RED WINGS SIGN TANGRADI TO A TWO-YEAR EXTENSION

The Red Wings signed winger Eric Tangradi, 27, to a two-year, two-way contract extension on Monday afternoon.
The 6-foot-4, 221 lbs. left winger signed a one-year deal with the Red Wings this past summer after spending one year in Montreal. He has only appeared in one game with the Red Wings, but ranks second in Grand Rapids Griffins scoring with 49 points (24G / 25A) in 60 games. 
According to our friends at NHLNumbers.com, Tangradi will be paid $600K ($300K in AHL) in 2016-17 and $650K ($300K in AHL) in 2017-18, for an annual cap-hit of $625K. 
The former second round pick (42nd overall in 2007) has plenty of size, which the Red Wings lack, but has registered just five goals and 10 assists (15 points) in 144 career NHL games between the Pittsburgh Penguins, Winnipeg Jets, Montreal Canadiens and Red Wings.
