2 years agoThe Detroit Red Wings recalled forward @Kyle Criscuolo from the Grand Rapids Griffins on Monday evening.
Criscuolo, 29, appeared in nine NHL contests with the Buffalo Sabres in 2017–18, failing to register a single point. To date, those games represent the entirety of Criscuolo’s big-league experience.
A right-shooting center who stands 5’9″ and weighs 175 pounds, Criscuolo ranks third on the Griffins this season with 12 points (five goals, seven points) in 12 games. He and @Taro Hirose are the only Griffins players averaging at least one point per game this season.
This is Criscuolo’s second season in the Red Wings organization. He joined the team in October 2020 on a one-year, two-way contract before signing a two-year extension on July 27, 2021.
Criscuolo finished second on the Griffins with 11 goals in 29 games during the shortened 2020–21 AHL campaign. In 262 career AHL games, Criscuolo has 62 goals and 150 points.
The Red Wings will return to action when they take on the Boston Bruins at 7:00 p.m. ET on Nov. 30.
