The Detroit Red Wings are 1-7 in their last eight games on the road. After snapping a seven-game road losing streak on Tuesday night in Anaheim, the Red Wings will try to keep things rolling on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Kings.
Detroit is a +125 road underdog on the NHL odds in Los Angeles at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. This will be just the fourth time this season that the Kings are betting favorites going off at -145; they are 1-2 on the moneyline in their previous three instances as one.

Red Wings at Kings | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Red Wings entered their game against the Boston Bruins last Friday in the midst of a 1-11-1 slump. They were 0-4 over their last four games with four straight losses by four goals or more. And then, inexplicably, they outplayed the Bruins for 60 minutes and earned a 4-2 win. Perhaps even more surprisingly, the Red Wings followed that win up with two more, defeating the Vegas Golden Knights at home 3-2 and the Anaheim Ducks 4-3 on the road.
Detroit is 1-4 on the moneyline in its last five road games against Los Angeles per the OddsShark NHL Database.
Since starting the season off with a decent record of 4-5-0, the Kings have gone just 2-6-1 over their last nine games. Los Angeles’s 3-1 win over the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night marked the first time in nine games that the team had given up fewer than three goals. The Kings are the only team in the NHL giving the Red Wings a run for their money for the worst defense in the league, allowing 3.72 goals per game to Detroit’s league-worst 3.75 goals allowed per game. Los Angeles is 3-1 in its last four games at home.
Thursday night’s total is set at six goals at online betting sites. The UNDER is 4-1 in the last five games between the Red Wings and Kings.
The Red Wings have been playing great this week with three straight wins over teams with winning records. Can Detroit keep things going against the struggling Kings, or will it play down to the opponent’s level?
