Red Wings at Jets | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Red Wings dropped to 0-9-2 over their last 11 games with their ninth consecutive regulation loss last Saturday against the Pittsburgh Penguins. This also marked the seventh straight game that Detroit has lost by at least two goals since playing in five consecutive one-goal games in mid-November. In a season that Red Wings fans must embrace the silver linings, the team did score three goals in the 5-3 loss against Pittsburgh, snapping a streak of six straight games with two goals or less. Dylan Larkin led the way with a goal and an assist.
So far this season, the Red Wings have actually been a better puckline bet away from home with a 7-8 ATS record on the road compared to a 5-11 ATS record at home per the OddsShark NHL Database.
Winnipeg has shaken off its slow 4-5 start to the season to go 14-5-2 over its last 21 games including a current stretch of 8-2-1 over its last 11 games. After focusing more heavily on their offense last season, the Jets have shored up their defense this year ranking seventh in the NHL in goals against allowing only 2.7 goals per game. Which isn’t to say that they can’t still get the job done on offense as they are averaging 3.3 goals per game over their last 11 games.
Tuesday night’s total is set at six goals at online betting sites. The OVER is 6-0 in Detroit’s last six games against Central Division opponents.
With their offensive attack already hampered by an injury to Anthony Mantha, the Red Wings will also be without Andreas Athanasiou on Tuesday in Winnipeg. It would be hard enough to keep up with the Jets at full strength; doing so without two of the team’s top four scorers will be a very tall order.
