Red Wings at Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Red Wings fell to 1-2 at home and to 3-2 on the season with a 5-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night. Through their first five games of 2019, Detroit has scored 16 goals and allowed 16 goals, sitting right around the league average in both of these categories. For a team that finished 21st in scoring with 2.73 goals per game last season and 27th in goals against with 3.32 per game, the Red Wings’ start to the season has been a promising one.
Dating back to last season, the Red Wings are 5-1 in their last six games on the road including a 2-0 road record this season. Detroit was the underdog at online betting sites in all six of those games.
After losing their first two games on the road to the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames, the Canucks have bounced back with consecutive home wins over the Los Angeles Kings and the Philadelphia Flyers. Vancouver has won each of its last five games at home, outscoring its opponents 21 to 10 over that stretch. The Canucks have given up exactly two goals in all five of those wins, winning three of them by a final score of 3-2.
Tuesday night’s total is set at six goals. The UNDER is 9-2-2 in the last 13 games between the Red Wings and the Canucks.
Each of the last six games between Detroit and Vancouver have ended with five goals or less being scored, and four of those six games have been one-goal games. Goals have historically been hard to come by in this series, and with both teams off to similar starts to the 2019 season, this should be another competitive matchup.
