On this day in 2012, Detroit Red Wings trade Mike Commodore to Tampa Bay

On this day in 2012, the Detroit Red Wings traded Mike Commodore to the Tampa Bay Lightning for a conditional seventh-round draft pick.
It marked the end of a tumultuous time where Commodore claimed Mike Babcock refused to play him over new addition Kurt Sauer. Commodore, who played only 17 games for the Red Wings that year scoring two assists, was scratched for long parts of the season later saying Ken Holland ordered Babcock to play him.
Commodore later said the trade happened because Holland felt bad for him.
It marked the start of the end of Commodore’s career, as following that season he played parts of two years in the AHL, before playing 27 games in the KHL in 2013-14
He finished his career having played 484 regular season games scoring 106 points.
