Larkin to Make Appearance at NTDP Game Friday

Just announced today, the USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program (USNTDP) will welcome former forward and Waterford, Michigan native, Dylan Larkin, to the USA Hockey Arena (former Compuware Arena – Plymouth) tomorrow (Friday, January 15th), when the U.S. National U17 Team hosts in-state rival Muskegon.
The Detroit Red Wings rookie was recently named to the 2016 NHL All-Star game, in honor of the achievement the US NTDP alum will participate in dropping the ceremonial puck prior to the game. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
All fans in attendance will receive a commemorative Dylan Larkin poster. In addition to the giveaway, five fans will be randomly selected for an exclusive meet-and-greet session with Larkin during the game (game ticket stubs will be used as contest entries).
Larkin skated with the NTDP from 2012-14 tailing 44 goals and 40 assists for 84 points in 115 games with the U.S. National Under-17 and Under-18 Teams. Larkin helped lead the USA to a gold medal at the 2014 International Ice Hockey Federation Men’s Under-18 World Championship in Lappeenranta, Finland.
Additionally, Larkin also represented the United States at the 2015 World Junior Championship in Montreal and Toronto, Canada and 2015 Men’s World Championship, where he earned a bronze medal in Prague and Ostrava, Czech Republic.
Following his time at the NTDP, Larkin played for the University of Michigan where in 35 games he notched 47 points during the 2014-15 season. He was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year, as well as being named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team and All-Big Ten First Team.
Now, in his rookie season with the Detroit Red Wings, the Waterford, Michigan, native has 14 goals to go along with 15 assists in 42 games this season. He leads the Red Wings in plus/minus and was recently tabbed to represent the Red Wings and the Atlantic Division at the January 30th NHL All-Star game being played at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. He is the only NHL rookie to have been named to the 2016 NHL All-Star Game.
