The Saginaw Spirit made a couple of additions to their ownership lineup today, as former Red Wings goaltender Chris Osgood will be joining the team, along with Brandon Bordeaux.
Osgood won three Stanley Cups with Detroit in 1997, 1998, and 2008, is 11th all-time in goaltender wins, and has won two William M. Jennings trophies. He played 565 games with the Red Wings, and is second on the team in wins and shutouts, and is the only Red Wing goalie to score a goal.
Bordeaux joins the group being a Saginaw business owner.
The Michigan based OHL team, who have yet to win a championship in it’s fourteen year history, have made the playoffs in the last 11 years, but have yet to advance past the conference semifinals. The team is hoping that the additions of Osgood and Bordeaux will help the team going further, and perhaps bring a championship to the city.
These hirings came days after the team had hired Jimmy Devellano, an executive for both the Detroit Red Wings, and Detroit Tigers.
