Dylan Larkin to participate in three events in Skills Competition

This weekend, the Detroit Red Wings are being forced to share 19-year-old wunderkind Dylan Larkin with the rest of the hockey continent as he represents the team at the 2016 NHL All-Star Game in Nashville. It’s as good of an opportunity as always to make the rest of the league jealous of what’s cooking in the Motor City, and Larkin will have a few different ways that he can do that. The league announced the lineups for tomorrow’s Skills Competition this morning, in which Larkin will participate in three events.

Unsurprisingly, Larkin will be a crucial member of the Eastern Conference’s lineup for the fastest skater competition. He’ll be joined by Brandon Saad (Columbus), Erik Karlsson (Ottawa), and Kris Letang (Pittsburgh). Larkin will also be the Easts’ stick handling representative in the Skills Challenge Relay, which gives different roles to everyone on the team. 

Lastly, Larkin will join everybody in the best-of-there shootout. He’ll be playing in the third heat, teaming up with all of his fastest skater partners, along with Claude Giroux (Philadelphia) and John Tavares (NY Islanders) while Cory Schneider protects the net.

The Skills Competition begins at 7:00 PM tomorrow night.
