The Detroit Red Wings assigned center Chase Pearson to the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins.
Pearson, 24, made his NHL debut last Thursday against the New York Islanders laying three hits and a plus-one rating in his 7:40 TOI.
Drafted by the Red Wings in the fifth round of the 2015 draft, Pearson is in his fourth pro season in the organization. He’s spent his time with the Griffins, however, where in 144 games he’s scored 25 goals and 63 points.
Following his draft year, he spent another season with the Youngstown Phantoms before joining the NCAA’s University of Maine. There, he appeared in 107 games over three seasons scoring 37 goals and 78 points. In his final two years, he served as the captain.
