Bruins at Red Wings | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Red Wings picked up a 5-1 loss on the road against the New York Rangers on Wednesday night. Detroit has lost its last four games by at least four goals, getting outscored 22-5 over that stretch. The team’s first line of Dylan Larkin, Anthony Mantha, and Tyler Bertuzzi combined for 16 goals and 20 assists in 13 games played in the month of October; over Detroit’s last three games, this line has only one assist. With no legitimate scoring depth down the lineup, the pressure is on these three night in and night out to even give the Wings a shot.
Detroit is 1-11-1 over its last 13 games overall per the OddsShark NHL Database.
On the other side of the spectrum, the Boston Bruins are having a great season, leading the Atlantic Division with an 11-2-2 record. David Pastrnak is the league’s leading scorer with 15 goals and 30 points, and the team overall ranks third in the NHL in both goals for (3.73) and goals against (2.33) per game. The Bruins were a perfect 6-0 both on the moneyline and on the puckline of -1.5 over their previous six games before losing 5-4 to the Montreal Canadiens on the second night of a back-to-back on Tuesday.
Friday night’s total is set at six goals at sports betting sites. The UNDER is 4-2 in Detroit’s last six home games against Boston.
On paper, this has all of the makings of a blowout win for Boston. Detroit has been blown out in each of its last four games, and the Bruins have had two days to rest and prepare for this one. The Red Wings would have to consider it a moral victory just to keep a game like this one competitive on Friday night.
