6 Red Wings prospects invited to the World Junior Summer Showcase

The World Junior Summer Showcase, which is an evaluation camp to determine the final rosters for the World Junior Championship, will take place from July 28th to August 5th 2017, in Plymouth Michigan. The Detroit Red Wings will have 6 prospects attending this event, representing the nation’s of Canada, Finland, Sweden, and the USA. The 6 prospects that will be attending can be found below:

Team Canada

D Dennis Cholowski (Drafted 20th overall in 2016)
F Givani Smith (Drafted 46th overall in 2016)

Team Finland

D Kasper Kotkansalo (Drafted 71st overall in 2017)

Team Sweden

G Filip Larsson (Drafted 167th overall in 2016)
D Gustav Lindstrom (Drafted 38th overall in 2017)

Team USA

G Keith Petruzzeli (Drafted 88th overall in 2017)

Notable names not invited

The most notable name not invited was the Wings 9th overall pick in 2017, Michael Rasmussen. Hockey Canada did not invite the first rounder to attend, however it may be because of a wrist injury he is still recovering from.
