Welcome to “2 Guys and a Goalie,” starring Dustin Nielson, Joaquin Gage, and Matt Kassian and presented by Odds Shark, Popeye’s Louisiana Chicken, and Sport Clips Haircuts. The show focuses on stories, notes, transactions, and everything else happening all around the NHL and the world of hockey.
Former Oiler defenseman, head coach, and general manager is in studio!
He tells some great stories from his playing days like the Mike Milbury incident during his Bruins’ days, what it was like winning the Stanley Cup with the @New York Rangers, what it was like joining the @Edmonton Oilers in the middle of the 1980s, the best goalie he ever played with, and the best roommate while on the road.
Then he talks about his post-playing days, including his thoughts on the new Battle of Alberta, his time in the KHL, his coaching future in the NHL, coaching Gager back in the day, putting together Team Canada at this year’s Spengler Cup team, what it was like getting into coaching, who the hardest players were to coach, losing good players like Ryan Smyth and Bill Guerin to trades in the middle of a season, the Harvey the Hound incident, feuding with Bob Hartley, and the 2006 Stanley Cup run.
Popeyes Poll Question: Are the Sedins first ballot Hall of Famers?
  • Yes
  • No
Keep It or Clip It:
  • All three of @Alex Ovechkin, @David Pastrnak, and @Auston Matthews will hit 50 goals this season.
  • Having a heart-shaped pizza on Valentine’s Day is romantic.
  • A Canadian team will make the Stanley Cup final this season.
  • @Leon Draisaitl is now the Hart Trophy favourite.
  • Getting someone a gift certificate for Valentine’s Day is unacceptable.
