The Detroit Red Wings have officially begun to sell.
On Sunday afternoon, the Red Wings announced they have traded defenseman @Troy Stecher to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.
Stecher, 27, has missed much of the 2021–22 season due to injury but has two points (one goal, one assist) in 16 games played with the Red Wings this year.
In 346 career games with Detroit and the Vancouver Canucks, Stecher has 15 goals and 88 points. He appeared in 17 games with the Canucks during their run to the second round of the 2020 bubble playoffs.
After this trade, the Red Wings now have 10 selections at the 2022 NHL Draft:

- DET 2022 2nd
- WSH 2022 2nd
- DET 2022 3rd
- DET 2022 4th
- COL 2022 4th
- VGK 2022 4th
- DET 2022 5th
- DET 2022 7th
- LAK 2022 7th
The 2022 NHL trade deadline will pass on Monday, March 21 at 3:00 p.m. ET.
