Red Wings file for salary arbitration with goaltender Petr Mrazek

Jul 6, 2016, 18:00 EDTUpdated:
After rumours flying around of different options for his upcoming contract, the Wings eventually decided to stick to the one where they may have to leave it up to someone else.
Because the Wings filed for arbitration instead of the restricted free agent Mrazek, the goalie can now decide how long he wants his contract to be for- one or two years.
Both sides are able to negotiate a deal before the hearing, scheduled to take place in the window between July 20th and August 4th.
If there is no contract signed prior to arbitration, the Red Wings will have to then accept the arbitrator’s deal.
More to come in the coming days.
