By the lowest margin possible, the Wings pulled off a victory today.

They don’t ask how, they ask how many. 1-0 over the Montreal Canadiens in a nice Monday afternoon matchup.

The win bumped the Wings out of last place(!) in the Atlantic Division as they improved to 44 points on the season.

Thomas Vanek ended up with the lone goal against his former team. The stats were as follows:

Neither team really dominated, or did a whole lot of anything in this one. Only 38 shots on goal total was quite the low total for both sides. But hey, two points is two points. It’s hard to really take too many positives, but there weren’t really a ton of negatives either. A pretty “meh” game all around.

Making his case for the Wings number one goalie, Jared Coreau picked up his second shutout of the year.

The Wings play the Bruins in a classic matchup Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m.
