Hoo boy, that was a fun one. Well, fun in some sense of the word. Nerve-wracking, sure. A little bit of discontent tossed towards the refs? Well, you bet. But all in all, two points.

Anders Lee began the scoring 5:16 into the first period, but it was relatively shortlived. 

Playing against his former team, Frans Nielsen sets up this goal to get the Wings on the board in the first period. Watch out for that Green guy- we’re going to see him again.

More hockey happened and the teams went into the first intermission tied at 1.

Now, where were we? Fawning over Mike Green? 

This time, it was Tomas Vanek setting up Green for his second of the game.

That wasn’t enough for Green, who actually scored his third goal of the game midway through the third to give the Wings a 3-2 lead. 

But his goal was disallowed because of a controversial goalie interference call by forward 

.

Henrik Zetterberg scored off a deflection in the slot with 6:54 remaining, and that should’ve been all she wrote.

Unfortunately, just 193 seconds later Josh Bailey tied things up for the Isles.

Overtime produced an unlikely hero….
