On Wednesday afternoon, @Dylan Larkin, @Tyler Bertuzzi, and @Filip Zadina have all taken to social media to offer a message of gratitude to Red Wings fans for their ongoing support as we all work through what is undoubtedly a tough time as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
From the video compilation put out on the Wings’ official Twitter account:
“I just wanted to say that I miss playing in front of you guys at the LCA, and that it’s a tough time during this pause right now but we’ll be back soon and we just wanted to make sure that everyone is staying safe and taking care of each other right now in this tough time. We’ll be back playing for you guys before you know it.” -Larkin“Hey, Hockey Town, I miss being on the ice and playing in front of you guys every night. I just wanted to say thanks for the support throughout this year and I know it’s been tough. There’s a lot more than hockey, though, I want everyone to be safe.” -Bertuzzi“Just want to say that we miss you guys and that we’re missing playing in front of you at the LCA. But with the tough times outside, just stay safe and keep taking care of each other. We’re obviously missing you guys and missing the game, but I hope that soon we’ll be back to playing the game we love.” -Zadina
The Red Wings trio join an ever-growing list of NHLers that feature the likes of Connor McDavid, Blake Wheeler, Mikael Backlund, @Jack Eichel, @Nico Hischier, @Rasmus Dahlin, and @Jonathan Bernier who have made similar statements and used their social channels to encourage fans to practice social distancing as much as possible during this time.
