Gordie Howe passes away at 88

Red Wings legend Gordie Howe passed away this morning. He was 88.
The news was published first by The Hockey News’ Ken Campbell, in the tweet below:
While there was some uncertainty about the accuracy of Campbell’s report, within minutes the news was confirmed by multiple sources.
Howe’s death came after his health had been declining already for several years. The cause is currently unknown. Howe’s professional career lasted from 1946-1980, with a final NHL stat line of 1767 games played, 801 goals, 1049 assists, and 1850 points.
Rest in peace, Gordie.
