Jimmy Howard recalled by Red Wings

Mar 8, 2017, 16:36 EST
Kevin Hoffman-USA TODAY SportsJimmy’s back!
Earlier today, it was announced that Jimmy Howard would be returning to the Red Wings, after falling to injury in late December.
Though he played just 17 games this season, Howard’s numbers in 2016-17 were the best they’ve been in years. He posted up a .934 save percentage and a 1.96 GAA, allowing just 28 goals in his time in net. His even strength save percentage of .937 was tied for the best mark of his career, while he managed quality starts in 10 of his 15 starts, while in 11 of those games he allowed 2 goals or less.
He’ll likely split time with Petr Mrazek moving forward, and we can expect to see Jared Coreau sent back down to the Griffins soon.
