The money will likely be the maximum allowed for entry-level contracts.
Shortly after the Red Wings make this announcement, Craig Custance drops a bomb;
Red Wings announce signing of Filip Zadina to entry level deal. NHL rules that he was on loan to Halifax, so he can play in AHL next season if necessary.

Zadina will not be back in the CHL.
Zadina, an 18-year old Czech Native, had 82 points (44-38-82) in 57 games for the Halifax Mooseheads this past year.
Here is Filip’s take on the signing;
Just wanna say HUGE thanks to my family, agents and Especially to my teammates I would be here in Detroit organizations without you ! Thanks a lot ! It’s a honour for me to get this opportunity ! I am so excited about upcoming season ! Thank you Detroit!! @DetroitRedWings pic.twitter.com/vnjulARnNK

Detroit drafted Zadina 6th overall. The future star was an absolute steal in the draft and we are ecstatic to watch him develop in the coming years. Zadina will likely receive the 9 games allocated for rookies in the NHL. If he plays more than 9 games this year, he burns 1 year of his entry-level contract.
At Wings Nation, we’d like to thank the Canadiens, Coyotes, and Senators for passing on him. He will be filling their nets with pucks.
