It seems like so long since we’ve seen our Red Wings on the ice, but the time has come. The Red Wings have released their preseason schedule, so we can schedule our lives accordingly.

Starting with a three-game homestand at the LCA, the Red Wings will be facing off against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Chicago Blackhawks, and the Boston Bruins, to start their preseason.

Following that, they will travel to each of those team’s arenas and battle them on their own home ice. Finishing off the eight-game preseason with a home-and-home against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Depending on what Ken Holland and co. can do with the roster this offseason, there may be as little as only one roster spot for a depth player to make a showcase for himself. If Holland is able to move some big pieces, there certainly might be more intrigue in how players are performing during this eight-game stretch of preseason games.

There is certainly much to look forward to in Hockeytown, with the biggest draft in decades only seven days away. What an interesting time to be a fan.
