Filip Larsson named USHL Goaltender of the Year

Apr 30, 2018, 11:26 EDT
Detroit Red Wings prospect and Tri-City Storm goaltender, Filip Larsson, has been named the USHL Goaltender of the Year.
Voted by the league’s General Managers, Larsson had one of the best seasons from a goaltender in USHL history.
In 30 games for the Storm, Larsson had a .941 sv% and a 1.65 GAA. That .941 sv% led the league in the stat this year, and is the second-best save percentage in the 39 years of USHL history – the 1.65 GAA is the fifth-best in league history, as well.
He also posted seven shutouts this season, the fourth highest total in the history of the USHL and the second most among goaltenders this season.
Larsson also represented his home country at the World Juniors in January this year. He only got to see one game and let in 2 goals on 22 shots, but won silver nonetheless.
The 2016 167th-overall pick announced that he will be attending the University of Denver to play in their program and get a taste of NCAA hockey.
