With the Calder Cup Playoffs approaching, the Grand Rapids Griffins will unfortunately be short a forward. The team announced that Dominic Turgeon will be out indefinitely due to undergoing treatment for thoracic outlet syndrome.

The syndrome caused a blood clot in Turgeon’s right arm and was diagnosed on Wednesday afternoon, prior to the game against the Texas Stars.

He will be going for more procedures in the future, according to the team. He is expected to make a full recovery and resume his playing career when he is fully healthy.

At only 22 years of age, Turgeon has a long hockey career ahead of him and is off to a good start with the club. Increasing his numbers from last season, he is getting better on both ends of the ice and still managed to put up 14 goals and 32 points in 69 games this season for the Griffins.

He made his NHL debut on January 14th of this year and played a total of five games this season for the Red Wings.
