What looked to be a lengthy injury just got its timeline. Darren Helm will be out for at least six weeks, per GM Holland.
Helm appeared to hurt his arm during play against the New Jersey Devils on Friday night. He did not return that game.
Promoted recently to the top line, Helm has been a key contributor on both ends of the ice for the Wings this season. The line with him, Larkin, and Mantha have been absolutely stellar so far – 55.56 CF% at 5v5 but just have not been able to find the right bounce of the puck. They have only scored two 5v5 goals, while the opposition has scored five with them on the ice.
Helm has six points on the season, two of them coming in the last four games.
For the upcoming games, I imagine Blashill will reunite Nyquist on the top line, or feature Bertuzzi up there with Mantha and Larkin.
