#RedWings Blashill said Rasmussen will play center tomorrow at #BlueJackets. It’ll be his 10th game, burning a year off his entry-level contract. He can still be sent to juniors later this season but looks like he’s here to stay.

Looks like Michael Rasmussen will stay in Detroit for the time being. Announced by Jeff Blashill this morning, Rasmussen will be playing his tenth game this season tomorrow against the Blue Jackets – burning a year off his entry-level contract.
As Ansar Khan puts it as well, Rasmussen can still be sent back to the Tri-City Americans later in the season, but for now, he stays with the Red Wings.
He will also be playing just his second game at center this season. His natural position, Rasmussen will most likely lineup still lineup somewhere in the middle-six forward group. Tomorrow’s game will most likely be his highest amount of ice-time we see from him so far.
He is averaging 12:39 TOI in his first nine games with the team this season, netting just one assist as well.
Rasmussen has 7 SOG and 16 total shots attempted so far this season as well. Demonstrating the big change in the amount of space he has to get his shot off so far this season.
He has much to learn at the NHL level and at only 19-years-old he has a lot of time to learn and develop to be a modern-day NHL forward.
