Filip Zadina made his season debut for the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday against the Carolina Hurricanes, but it was spoiled in a 2-0 loss, the Red Wings’ sixth loss in a row.

Thoughts and Highlights

Zadina played on the second line with Darren Helm and Valtteri Filppula. He recorded three shot attempts and 15:04 of ice time, including 10:03 with Helm and Filppula.
Robby Fabbri filled in nicely for Anthony Mantha on the top line, but it’s clear the Red Wings were struggling without their top scorer.
The game remained scoreless until midway through the second period, when Sebastian Aho banked a shot off the backboard and found the loose puck in the crease to beat Jimmy Howard.
Teuvo Teravainen sealed the win with an empty-net goal on a 6-on-4 penalty kill.
