• Another terrible start for the Red Wings, as they finished the first period with four shots. For context, the Canadiens had two goals.
• Detroit made a push in the second period, owning 58.06% of the shot attempts for.
• Early in the first period, a turnover in the defensive zone leads to a Nate Thompson goal and a 1-0 lead for the Canadiens.
• Later in the first, with the Red Wings on the penalty kill, Jeff Petry blasted a shot past Jonathan Bernier to give Montreal a 2-0 lead.
• Early in the second period, the Red Wings cut the lead to 2-1 off a Robby Fabbri wrister, which snapped a five-game pointless streak for the 24-year-old.

• About 13 minutes into the second period, with the Canadiens on the power play, Nick Suzuki beat Bernier after a pretty tic-tac-toe passing play, Montreal’s second power-play goal.
• Early in the third period, the Red Wings cut the deficit to 3-2, as Alex Biega made a nice pass between Xavier Ouellet‘s legs, and Andreas Athanasiou backhanded a shot past Carey Price.

• The Red Wings completed the comeback, as Anthony Mantha fed a streaking Mike Green, who flubbed a shot through the legs of Price. It was Green’s 500th point.

• About four minutes later, Athanasiou gave the Red Wings the lead off a nice pass from Tyler Bertuzzi.
