Despite allowing seven goals in Monday’s loss to the Minnesota Wild, the Detroit Red Wings still managed to put together some memorable plays of their own.
Arguably the nicest goal of the game came off the stick of Red Wings captain @Dylan Larkin at the 1:27 mark of the first period. Larkin pounced on a breakaway opportunity created by Wild defenseman @Jordie Benn falling over in front of him.
With nobody between him and the net, Larkin was able to make a move to his backhand before the sliding the puck between the legs of Wild goaltender @Kaapo Kahkonen.
Shortly after @Joel Eriksson Ek gave the Wild a 5–2 lead midway through the third period, Red Wings rookie @Lucas Raymond responded on the power play to bring his team back within two goals.

Once again, Larkin factored into the scoring play. After receiving a pass from @Moritz Seider, Larkin spotted Raymond and fired a pass across the royal road right onto the stick of his rookie winger.
Raymond successfully one-timed Larkin’s pass by Kahkonen for his 13th goal of the season.
@Gustav Lindstrom and @Sam Gagner also scored for the Red Wings, which fell to 22–22–6 with the loss. Matt Boldy registered his first NHL hat trick and @Kirill Kaprizov scored twice for the Wild, which also received goals from Eriksson Ek and @Ryan Hartman.
The Red Wings will return to action on Feb. 17 to take on the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
