The Detroit Red Wings announced Thursday they have placed defenseman @Gustav Lindstrom on injured reserve, retroactive to Dec. 4.
The move freed up a roster spot for the Red Wings, who subsequently recalled defenseman @Brian Lashoff from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. The Red Wings will be able to activate Lindstrom off IR on Dec. 11.
Lashoff, 31, has spent his entire professional career (since 2008–09) with the Red Wings organization. In 136 career games with the NHL club, Lashoff has two goals and 15 points.
Lindstrom, 23, has four assists while averaging 15:54 on the ice in 19 games with the Red Wings this season.
