The losing streak extends to three games as the Red Wings fall to the Lightning by a score of 5-3.

The Lightning haven’t had the season they’ve wanted but they’ve managed to hang around long enough to keep themselves in the hunt for a wildcard spot. Over the last couple weeks, the Lightning have been surging and the Red Wings had an opportunity to put a nail in their playoff coffin.
After keeping the game close for twenty minutes the Lightning exploded for three goals in the second period which allowed them enough comfort to close out the win. For the Wings, the loss on the scoreboard wasn’t the only downside as they lost Anthony Mantha to an upper-body injury after he left the game in the first.
