Hockey is back! (sorta)
The first game of the prospect tournament in Traverse City got underway Friday night with Detroit’s youngsters taking on the Minnesota Wild’s farm system. Patrick Rybar got the start and we were off and running.
After going down 1-0 early, Detroit responded on the power-play, courtesy of Filip Zadina. Get use to this folks.
This snipe from the Red Wings’ recent first rounder was the lone bright spot the club had on the man-advantage. Detroit for the majority of the game struggled to score on the power-play, going 1-for-7. That would be the Wings demise in this game, losing by a score of 4-2 (including an empty netter).
There were some other stand out moments however. We saw Zadina’s Halifax counterpart Jared McIsaac laser one to the back of the net.
And Cole Fraser brings the hits.
Detroit’s next contest will Saturday against the Dallas Stars at 7:00 PM EST.
